"There was fear to fight with the enemy who was not visible this time. I paid close attention to the point of making members act at exposure time as short as possible. I think that we were able to accomplish the duty because there was the companions' backups."

■Yasuo Sato Director of Fire Defense Division who commanded on site:

"I E-mailed to my wife , saying that 'I mobilize to the Fukushima nuclear power plant'. Then, one line 'You must become the saviour in Japan' returned from her by mail. "
