Tokyo Electric Power Company (TEPCO) announced on March 13th that the cooling function of the nuclear reactor had been lost with the third machine of the first nuclear power plant in Fukushima.
TEPCO executed work to open the valve to pull out pressure in containment, and completed at 8:41AM on 13th.
TEPCO informed the country of the emergency (special event) based on Special Law on Nuclear Disaster Countermeasures at 5:00AM.
The report of the emergency due to this earthquake is the sixth.
There is a possibility that a part of air including the radioactive substance was discharged in the atmosphere by the third machine by having opened the pressure valve.
